Testimony began today in the trial of a former city dump truck driver who was charged with criminally negligent homicide. Prosecutors said in 2006, Clinton Mitchell was asleep at the wheel, when he ran a red light and hit a jeep. The jeep then hit two construction workers. One of them died, while the other was seriously injured. The driver of the jeep was also injured and is in a semi-vegetative state. Mitchell is expected to testify that he was awake, and the light was green when he went through it. |
