| Crime Stopper tip leads to arrest of ‘Scream Robber’ »
Houston police are investigating the aggravated assault of an on-duty Houston police officer. On Thursday night, HPD’s Narcotics Division responded to a call regarding a possible drug transaction at 15615 Eastex Freeway. Parked at the back of the location, they say they spotted several suspects inside their vehicles. As patrol officers approached the vehicles, a suspect in a tan Chevrolet truck, began ramming the patrol car parked behind him, officers said. The suspect rammed the patrol car several times, pushed the patrol vehicle back and then turned his truck towards Officer Curtis, who was standing outside his vehicle. Fearing for his life, Officer Curtis discharged his duty weapon twice at the suspect. The suspect then struck a second patrol vehicle and fled the scene. It is unknown if the suspect was hit by one of the bullets. Anyone with information on this case is urged contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. |
