Store clerk beaten over sandwiches

January 29, 2008

Police need your help identifying two men who beat a Valero store clerk after stealing sandwiches from the gas station counter.

The men entered the store around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2007. One of them distracted the clerk while the other pocketed several sandwiches and walked out without paying.
The other man quickly followed.
When the store clerk confronted the pair in the parking lot, the older suspect started punching him in the face, and the younger one removed his belt and started whipping the clerk.
They then fled in a late-90s black Dodge truck with a decal on the back window and paper dealer tags.
Both men are described as Hispanic. One is between 40-45 years old, and the other is 25-30 years old.
Both were 5’7″-5’9″ tall, 160-180 pounds and had black hair, brown eyes and moustaches.
Anyone with information leading to the identification, arrest and charging of the suspects is eligible for a reward up to $5,000.
If you know anything about this crime, call 713-222-TIPS.

Any chance we can be told what part of town (at least) the Valero store is in?

I cannot tell you how many incomplete articles I read at this site. There are hundreds of Valero stations in Houston and the surrounding areas. It would be helpful to know which one or even what part of town this happened. Fire your writers.
