It happened n the 7000 block of North Shepherd around 11 p.m.
Apparently, the guard was on his cell phone when the suspect approached him with the gun. Witnesses said when they went outside, the suspect was beating the man. They said he took off in a 1998-99 model Oldsmobile or Lincoln.
Police aren’t sure about a motive.
The victim was taken to the Doctors Hospital on Tidwell.
