Rural carrier accused of stealing mail

December 21, 2007

A Houston rural carrier has been arrested for the alleged theft of U.S. mail.

Shandel Nicole Lott was an employee at the East Houston Post Office.

An investigation sparked when people started complaining about missing mail in that route. Additional complaints had also been received concerning other routes to which Lott had been assigned.

If convicted, Lott faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine on each count of the indictment.

Say thanks to your local Postal Inspectors. And if you are missing mail let the local Postal Inspectors know.
