A Houston rural carrier has been arrested for the alleged theft of U.S. mail.

Shandel Nicole Lott was an employee at the East Houston Post Office.

An investigation sparked when people started complaining about missing mail in that route. Additional complaints had also been received concerning other routes to which Lott had been assigned.

If convicted, Lott faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $250,000 fine on each count of the indictment.

Herbert Michael Dominguez, US postmaster in the Alto, Texas postoffice got 1 year adjudicated probation in federal court in Feb. 2008 for stealing over $27,000 worth of stamps and money orders. He paid most of the money back as part of his plea deal kept quiet by the US attorney’s office up in East Texas. Local newspapers never reported it. Notice, they all call them “FORMER” post office employees after they are caught redhanded.
Shandel Lott was indicted in 2007 for stealing mail and was allowed to continued to work as a proud government employee until she was caught again, allegedly fo’ the same thing.
You’re government hard at work for you….
