The suspect, Gervin Odir Benites-Vijil faces charges of aggravated assault of a police officer and two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He is accused of firing shots at HPD Officer R.L. Wilson as she attempted to detain him for a robbery incident.

In response, Officer Wilson discharged her weapon, but did not hit the suspect. Neither the suspect nor officer was injured.
