Police seek shooter in Town Park murder

December 1, 2007

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another in the 9000 block of Town Park on Dec. 1.

Rigoberto Yak Xamimes was shot in the back and pronounced dead at the scene. Jorge Yak, 23, was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital in good condition.
Police say the two men were walking down Town Park when a black vehicle pulled up and a man with a pistol jumped out, demanding money. Xamimes struggled with the man and was shot. Yak was shot as well, and as he was running away he turned to see the suspect searching through Xamimes’ pockets.
The shooter is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens with a slim build. He was wearing a baggy black shirt and riding in a black Honda, Nissan or Toyota.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600.

This is really heart breaking. I feel for the families of the victims. It’s amamzing how killing someone is just like walking to the store. It’s the system. I think one gets more punishment for drugs than they do for taking a life.
