Police probe man’s shooting death

November 23, 2007

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at a complex on the Gulf Freeway service road Nov. 22.

Damon J. Ford, 29, suffered a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police report that Ford, a New Orleans native, met with two other males in the parking lot of the Indigo Falls apartments in the 10900 block of the Gulf Freeway that afternoon. During that meeting, he and the males got into an argument.
Ford was shot in the face as he sat in a white Chevy Avalanche. Both of the suspects initially fled on foot, but a short time later one returned and drove off in a dark-colored Chevy Astrovan.
Anyone with information in the case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600.
