Lonnie Williams reportedly called his family Tuesday morning, saying he’d killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.
The family called Galveston police, who found Williams at 15th and Seawall around 9:50 a.m.
When the officers approached him, Williams jumped into the water.
Police fished him out safely and took him back to Houston.
Williams is suspected of stabbing his girlfriend in the Clayton Homes Housing Project.
Police were called to a unit in the complex, where they found a woman’s body.
Neighbors said a woman and her four children lived in the unit.
