With the help of witnesses, Houston police have arrested and charged a man in a deadly hit-and-run wreck.

A woman riding a motorcycle was killed on the Katy Freeway early Friday morning.
The white Tahoe took off, but witnesses followed it and got the license plate number.
Houston police arrested Tony Devan Washington at his home. He’s charged with intoxicated manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid.
The victim has not yet been identified.

I hope he gets charged with murder and gets the chair. Pieces of scum like that who would flee the scene of a crime after running over a GIRL needs to be taken off the streets.

I knew the young lady who was killed. She was a very good person who worked hard and was trying to make something of her life. My question is this: What makes people like Tony Devan Washington think they have the right to go out, get high or drunk, get in a car and kill someone? Then they leave the person on the side of the road to die. What a compassionate human being. No jail term is long enough for that idiot.

Please have compassion for those of us who have made poor decisions. I know that no one expects to be killed in an accident and her death is senseless. Tony needs help not death. What have any of us done lately to win the war on drugs. Drugs cause more damage in our society than even hate itself. Tony was raised by his parents to be a preacher. Maybe now he may…As for the young lady, God aways require our best…If he wanted less he would have taken Tony in his sins…

Too bad this person will be sitting in jail, watching cable TV, hanging out with the homies….for a long time!

There is absolutely no excuse in this world for some one to do what he did and just leave the scene. He may have been able to help her if she were still alive.

OK…I’m confused. This person riding her bike was ON the freeway or on the feeder road? The freeway is no place for a bike or for walking on. If your car stalls I understand you may have to walk some. I’m not excusing Mr. Washington here, he does need to do time for just leaving her there, but the freeway is no place for a bike. Cars are going way too fast and unfortunately, there are ALWAYS drunk drivers on the road.

IT WAS A MOTORCYCLE SHE WAS RIDING YOU IDIOT NOT A BICYCLE!! WHY DO YOU LEAVE COMMENTS IF YOU CAN’T GET THE STORY STRAIGHT!!AND AS FOR THE GUY WHO DID THIS TO HER GIVE HIM THE DAMN DEATH PENALTY. WHY SHOULD HE BREATH IF SHE’S NOT!!

I’m glad to know that everyone belives in equal justice and not God’s justice. Now how sick is that in that not completly knowing what happened we condem a man we don’t know or all the true facts that’ why we have a justice system. If that justice is not swift enough for you God will render the proper justice. Just remember He is the only being that knows how and why we all live. Time is not a right it is a gift from Him to give us an opportunity to join him. Use it wisely He is the ultimate Judge.

This tragic accident could have been prevented if the man would have stayed home to get drunk. That is the problem these days, people think its o.k. to get drunk and get behind the wheel of a car. If your gonna drink, STAY HOME!!He deserves whatever he gets ,life in prison or the death penalty. Either way God will make sure he gets what is coming to him.

Joe said:

Stop kissing the criminals ass…if he wanted help he would have sought help. People that excuse actions like his by saying it wasn’t his fault because he has a problem deserve to sit in the chair right next to him. He made a choice to get behind the wheel and leave the scene – there is no gray area here. Case closed – death to that idiot.

First I would like to say my heart goes out to Monica and her family. We worked together and every-one knows her as cheerful, always smiling, always joking and just fun to work with. She was so cute and adorable. I’m still in shock as I’m making this post because when you talk to someone and work beside them and enjoy laughs it almost seems like yesterday. The real shock of all is that I just found out 9-11 and it happened 8-31. Monica was pursuing a real estate career and working her butt off. She was really going some-where in life. To the family of Monica: I will pray for you before I go to sleep and may the lord be with you. God Bless!!

What has happened is an unfortunate situation, both for the young lady who was killed and her family, and also for Tony Washington. My prayers truly are with her family; and as for Mr Washington, I pray for him also. Life as he has known it will never be the same from that day forward because of a poor choice that he chose to make in getting behind the wheel of a vehicle intoxicated. Surely he can ask God and the family for forgiveness, but the one thing that won’t do is bring this young lady back to her family. They will sadly have to live with this loss for the rest of their lives. May God’s will be done and justice be served.
