A man suspected of being the “lunch box bandit” has been arrested. FBI officials said James Glen Blythe robbed the Wachovia Bank on the Northwest Freeway just south of West 43rd Street on Sept. 26th. Blythe went to the teller and put a blue-gray vinyl lunchbox on the counter, detectives said. He kept one hand inside the lunchbox during the robbery. Investigators said Blythe also robbed the Washington Mutual Bank inside the Fiesta supermarket on Wirt Road near Kempwood Drive on Sept. 15th. No one was injured in either robbery. A tip to Crime Stoppers led to Blythe’s arrest. Officials said the caller indicated media reports on the robberies prompted his calls. 2 CommentsLeave a comment |
