Attorneys for a woman accused of setting a building fire that killed three people were in court Wednesday. The defense is trying to get Misty Weaver’s confession thrown out. Police say Weaver confessed to starting the fire at the northeast Houston mid-rise last year, but now, she is pleading not guilty. Weaver worked as a nurse in a plastic surgery office in the building. A police report indicates that Weaver initially told officers that she set the fire because she hadn’t finished an audit. Weaver is charged with three counts of manslaughter and arson. Testimony will resume Monday. |
