HPD investigating fatal wreck involving dump truck
July 03, 2007
A man died after crashing head-on into a dump truck early Tuesday morning.
The wreck happened around 6:30 a.m. at 14300 Hempstead Highway.
According to police, the Republic Waste truck was going west when it was hit head-on by a maroon pickup.
The pickup driver died at the scene, and the dump truck driver broke both of his legs.
HPD is still investigating, and the victim has not yet been identified.

Past the scene this morning on the way to the office. Knew there was no possible chance the pickup driver could have survived the collision as the truck was buckled into a V shape.
