I read the above story about the man that was shot and killed Dec 1st. Yesterday Dec 05 2007 as I drove into town on I 45 at Belfort a car drove alongside my pickup then pulled up near the front of my vehichle and shot a gun at me striking my front windshield then sped away. In talking to the officer he stated that a new law had just gone in effect that it is legal to carry a loaded gun in your car as long as it is out of sight. He said that I was a very lucky man that I was not struck by the bullet. You cannot defend from this it is unexpected and no way to stop it. It was called criminal mischief on the police report. I call it attempted murder. What are we to do as Houstonians to stop this. We need stronger justice and not spare the rod other wise we will loose our younger people to no morality. We need the parents to be role models not punks In my mind that causes these types of incidents and sometimes people get killed and racial lines are drawn deep in the ground because some groups are tying to kill you.
