On Monday around 9:30 p.m., Jonus Edwards heard noises outside his home in Brazia County. He went outside to see what the noises were, and when he walked out his back door, he saw a 20-year-old man wearing a dark do-rag on his head and something partially covering his face.

When Edwards exited his house, the suspect ran up to him and Edwards hit the suspect in the head. The man and the Edwards began to fight, but that didn’t last long as the suspect struck Edwards in the head with a handgun.

The victim reported that the suspect forced him to the ground, where he bound his hands behind his back with his own belt. Then the suspect forced Edwards into the bed of his own truck.

Once in the bed of the truck, Edwards said the belt came off and he was able to jump over the roof of his truck and run away. While he was running away, the suspect fired numerous shots.

The suspect is described as 5’09” and 185 pounds. The suspect was possibly wearing a dark shirt. The victim can’t remember if he was wearing pants or shorts. He is dark, with short black hair.
