Downtown traffic stop turns into a chase

October 17, 2007

A downtown traffic stop early Wednesday morning turned into a police chase that ended in a field.

The suspect drove around a neighborhood full of dead ends off of Player at Trail Lake Key.
Police said he bailed out of the car, and K-9 units were used to locate him.
The man had a cut on his chest, so an ambulance took him to the hospital.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are when it comes to these type of chases. How many people have been successful in running from the cops? Very few. Odds are, you will be busted. I am not sure how these geniuses think they can beat these odds. I wish they’d just wrap themselves around a pole at 100mph and not hurt anyone else.

I imagine running from the police gives the bad guys a chance to ditch the pipes and rocks before being caught.
