Crime Stoppers and Investigators with the La Porte Police Department hope a newly released composite will help identify the suspects who robbed the Lomax Grocery Store located at 1824 Sens in La Porte. Police say that at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, three men walked into the Lomax grocery store and jumped over the counter. They say that the suspects held the clerk at gunpoint and took an undetermined amount of cash from the store. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a 2002-2004 White Chevy Tahoe with tined windows and cargo style rear doors, say police. They say that the Tahoe had no front license plate and the rear plate was covered. The man driving the SUV reportedly had short dark hair and he was wearing a blue long sleeved shirt. The thieves are described as being in their mid-twenties. One of them was heavyset, wore a black beanie, black shirt, blue jeans, and white tennis shoes, say police. He was also reportedly wearing glasses. A witness described him as having a chubby face and dark eyes armed with a silver colored handgun. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the (713) 222-8477 tips hotline. You can also submit a tip online at www.crime-stoppers.org. 1 CommentsLeave a comment |
