Charges pending in man’s shooting death

Charges are pending against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of a woman Friday.
The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. in the 2600 block of Riverside.
Jamar E. Agomo, 28, was arrested at the scene without incident.
Police say the male victim, Derek Samuel Anderson, 39, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was taken to Ben Taub in stable condition.
According to police, Agomo went to an apartment complex where he encountered his estranged wife and her new boyfriend, Anderson. There was an altercation, and Anderson fired several times, striking the couple.
The investigation is ongoing.
