It happened around 4 a.m. at Hillcroft and Tarna.

Apparently a wrecker near the scene saw the victim get attacked and shot in the head.

The wrecker radioed the Houston Police Department where a chase ensued.

Several suspects, some believed to be juveniles, tried to hide in an apartment complex, but K-9 units found them.

The shooting victim was transported Ben Taub Hospital in serious condition.
