1,728 Miles Later….

By Robin Carter, 3TV

Can you believe the trip is over already?! The crew was great, and I mean the engineers that did such a terrific job getting this monster on the air. If you went to any of the shows, you saw how hard everyone worked, but there were people back in Phoenix too who had to take what the road crew did and put it on the air. Communications are always a little iffy when there is so much state in between!
Major teamwork!

Safford: Great reception and they told us that they had watched every Road Trip show and made it their goal to do it even better. The people were really terrific and it was a great turnout. What a party! Tara and Dan and Olivia and Brad really got into the crowd and signed hundreds of autographs. And Gibby too! It was really cool that the balloon took off from its tethers too. Kevin had not done that yet. What a blast!

Globe: The last show! We had a lot of stairs to climb to get to the top of the Historic Arts Center. There was a chair elevator, but that doesn’t hold equipment. I didn’t count how many times I went up and down those stairs, but I sure am sore today! There are some great artists featured in there. the White Porch shop in the basement is one of the best I have ever been in. Used and new things. An incredible crowd came out for the show and it being the last show, there were no barriers. The talent mixed with everyone. I appreciated a couple of girls from the High School band talking to me and recognizing that the production crew did so much work. Thanks girls! The breakfast provided by the Globe Firefighters was yummy and their proceeds went to the MDA. Great job!

Thank goodness it wasn’t a long drive home from Globe. Boy, was I ready. I could sleep for a week! Here are my favorites from each city:

Wickenburg the Museum, Dan’s Bola Tie & Saddle Shops

Yuma Yuma Spice Tea, Western characters & Gibby’s Hometown

Lake Havasu London Bridge Resort, the London Bridge History

Bullhead City Dinner at the Laughlin Ranch & the many Diet Cokes from the Bar
