HOUSTON — A Customs and Border Protection officer was arrested for using his credentials to transport six kilograms of cocaine to Houston in exchange for $6,000 and expenses, police say. Police in Richmond say thieves caused considerable damage at a small airport in the area. The thieves, police say, broke into six airplanes at the Westheimer Air Park. They stole a lot of tools and caused $4,000 in damage to a vintage plane. The airport’s owner, William Reid, said he suspects mischievous teenagers. There is no fence around the airport. A man walking along the 13100 block of Almeda Road was hit and killed by a truck early Thursday morning. …Police need your help finding a toy thief.
A SWAT standoff in northeast Houston came to an end early Tuesday morning after the suspect was hit with a Taser. …Police were called to the Tienda Food Store at Antoine and Tidwell after a security guard heard a loud noise early Tuesday morning. …A man visiting his ex-wife and children was found stabbed to death at their southwest Houston apartment complex late Monday night. …A maintenance man at a West Houston apartment complex walked by an open door Monday morning and saw the body of a man spattered with blood. Police say the victim had just been beaten to death. No arrests have been made, but police suspect the husband of the victim’s girlfriend. The husband was due in court moments after the killing to finalize the divorce. He never showed up. …A man with multiple stab wounds was dropped off at Bayshore Hospital late Sunday night. …MANVEL, Texas — The FBI and Manvel Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the masked man who took one teller hostage while robbing another at a Manvel bank. …A local man is behind bars after an overnight standoff in the Heights. Police eventually had to use force to get inside the home. SWAT teams had to use a big battering arm to break through the burglar bars on the windows. It all started with a neighbor called police to say her neighbor threw a brick at her. After an 8-hour standoff SWAT teams threw tear gas in the man’s home and he surrendered. Police say he has a history of mental health issues. …A suspected bank robber who struck twice in Houston is in the custody of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office. Police are looking for clues in the shooting death of a local man. A police report indicates that Donjuan White, 25, was shot as he met several people at an apartment on 10950 Briar Forest early Sunday. White died at the scene from several gunshot wounds. Police are now looking for the shooter and a motive. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS (8477). Baytown police have charged a man in the city’s second murder of 2008. Michael Ray Baker is facing murder charges for the shooting death of Ronald Williams, 45. He later died at the hospital.
