Beijing Olympic uniforms unveiled

In a rare move, the USA summer Olympics uniforms were previewed in advance Monday night at the US Olympic Trials in Eugene.

The Nike uniforms were modeled between events at Monday's competition, worn by Track and Field athletes who had already qualified in Eugene for the Olympic team.

Among those proudly sporting the uniforms was newly crowned 800 meter champion Nick Symmonds, who only hours earlier had told an NBC interviewer ...

Wow. Track Town USA is back!

Monday night's 1-2-3 sweep of the 800 meters by Oregon men was a race for the ages.

With half a lap to go, race favorite Nick Symmonds was trapped, boxed in by the pack in the men's 800 meter final. With a single move on the backstretch, the former Willamette University standout extricated himself and unleashed a blistering kick to gap the field and win the 800.

The big men of track and field, the shot putters, wowed a sun-soaked Hayward Field crowd Sunday, launching the put to the rhythmic claps of fans.

Reese Hoffa established his dominance early and cruised to the win. Christian Cantwell placed second to earn his first Olympic birth. Fan favorite Adam Nelson placed third, securing a spot for his third straight Olympics.
