~~ Promo Heaven ~~

Stephanie Stricklen

I shot a bunch of promotional spots for the Olympics today..... at the Lincoln High School track. Okay, it's not exactly China.. but the plan is to immediately reshoot them once I land and feed them back via sattelite.

I also set up some radio stuff, too.. I have to limit how many hits I'm doing this time around for a few reasons.. a) I don't get paid for them.. b) with the whacky time difference they are tending to fall when I'm back...

Stephanie Stricklen

First thing this morning I chatted with the Today Show's Ann Curry via sattelite! You know she has Oregon roots, right? She graduated high school in Ashland, went to college at the U of O and even worked in Medford AND at KGW!!

She's headed to the Olympics. I'm looking forward to trying to catch up with her over there. Anything you want me to ask her from China? We're going to try and run something from her tomorrow (Thursday) in ...

It's time to start Olymp-i-bloggin'!! I haven't been on my usual health beat because I'm in a scramble to get my show on the road. I'm making calls, shooting stories, setting some really cool stuff up to cover in Beijing.

I have to be honest, this time around I'm a little anxious.. we're not sending a producer to Beijing-- which was the case at the previous three Olympics. So, I think I'm overly-paranoid about what my expectations a...

Beijing Olympic uniforms unveiled

In a rare move, the USA summer Olympics uniforms were previewed in advance Monday night at the US Olympic Trials in Eugene.

The Nike uniforms were modeled between events at Monday's competition, worn by Track and Field athletes who had already qualified in Eugene for the Olympic team.

Among those proudly sporting the uniforms was newly crowned 800 meter champion Nick Symmonds, who only hours earlier had told an NBC interviewer ...

Oregon men sweep 800

Wow. Track Town USA is back!

Monday night's 1-2-3 sweep of the 800 meters by Oregon men was a race for the ages.

With half a lap to go, race favorite Nick Symmonds was trapped, boxed in by the pack in the men's 800 meter final. With a single move on the backstretch, the former Willamette University standout extricated himself and unleashed a blistering kick to gap the field and win the 800.
