...Because I'm going to need to after tonite. This is what I'm judging: Tillamook Mac N Cheese Contest. I'm a HUGE foodie and can't wait to see the new takes on my old favorite. Six recipes to sample......... OMG. And there's a hefty first-place prize to be had by the winner we choose, so I'm taking this seriously! Did I already mention this?? My husban... I wanted to post this blog yesterday but the blog software was down. And the technical group we usually report that to had technical problems of their own. So, who do you call when the tech guys aren't available?? Anyway, THANK YOU for your kind emails and thoughtful comments. I really can't thank you enough. Everyone goes through loss. Some are harder than others. And while I miss Milo, it was truly his time. M... Well, (deep breath) here goes...... Since before I left for China, I've been caring for my sweet puppy Milo who has a lesion in his spine (most likely a glioma that they can't biopsy due to its location). He's actually 10 years old, but always a puppy in my mind. I cried and cried when I left for the Olympics figuring that would be the last time I would ever see him, but god bless him-- he hung on for almost a month and a half after ... I've served food at the Trail Blazers Harvest dinner for a number of years now, and every year it reminds me how people are struggling to survive. During the dinner, the Blazers-- and others in the community-- serve food to about 5,000 people in need. This year was interesting. I had a conversation with a man who told me last year he and his family were financially sound only to lose everything (first the house, then the j... Try telling that to the credit reporting companies that are responsible for generating your credit score. I was working on a non-health related story today for November and the banker I interviewed recommended everyone check their credit report. Everyone. Now, since I have really good credit and a high credit score, I've never bothered to check. But, since I wanted to include his suggestion in my story I figured I better pu... I think it's time for the hairstyle to change. Again. Yes, I know; it would probably be just fine if I kept one hairstyle for the duration of my time at KGW, but you know-- that would bore me to tears. It really would. I'm thinking a bob is in my future. And for everyone who will tell me that is sooo last season.. that soo many ladies are sporting one; so what? I had a bob 9 years ago and LOVED it. Enough of 'hair talk'. It's ju... Morning run got derailed.. not by the rain but by an early wake up call from the husband who forgot to put out the trash. I crawled back into bed to warm up and fell back asleep blowing right past my workout window. McGorge Scott sent along some running links he likes: My big mouth got me in trouble again. But in a good way, I hope. A few months ago I did a fitness challenge with two friends of mine at work. I asked them if they wanted to join me because my normal workout partner got hit by a car on her bicycle about a year or so ago and hasn't been able to workout since... and I really needed a challenge to get me moving. Well, it was a success. My body fat percentage dropped a... I had this noon live hit from hell and I've been toting around a headache ever since. I got my assignment at 11:30. The mission was to watch Congressman DeFazio's press conference at noon and do a quick-turn on his bailout proposal for 12:30. Provided it started on time (it did) that would give me about 10 to 12 minutes to write the story if I bailed on watching the presser at 12:20. Well, we couldn't get the story into our s... Spotted in the hallway outside of the newsroom: one R2-D2 pop can recycling bin (yes, it's for recycling not for trash). No word on who glued on the antenna. Nicely done, eh?
